Solihull Action through Advocacy was established as a charity in 1995 to provide advocacy for people with learning disabilities living in Solihull.
Our work involves providing independent advocacy for people on a one to one basis as well the facilitation of project and group work which focuses on supporting people to build self advocacy skills and become an active part of the community in which they live.
In everything we do, Solihull Action through Advocacy promotes inclusion and equality and works to secure the rights of the people we work with.
We are governed by a Management Committee made up of volunteer Trustees and are currently looking to appoint a new Trustee Treasurer to join our team.
As a trustee you will oversee the development of the organisation, ensuring it has the resources to carry out its work and remains in line with its constitution and policies. Specifically as Treasurer you will have significant experience and skills in finance. You’ll have a good understanding of budgets, keeping of financial records and accounting systems.
Trustees meet every 6 weeks and as Treasurer you will sometimes need to dedicate additional time to support the directors and finance officer. All expenses will be paid though this is essentially a voluntary role.
