Trustee & Fundraiser Opportunity

Challenge Adventure Group

Are you passionate about and committed to allowing young people to reach their potential in new and exciting ways?

Great – because we are looking for a volunteer Chair, Secretary, Fundraiser, someone to help deliver our D of E program and enthusiastic leaders willing to get their hands dirty.

Challenge Adventure Group is a male only youth organisation for Knowle and its environs and is aimed at young people aged between 10 and 18.

As our name suggests, the group provides challenging, adventurous and fun activities to educate young people in their leisure time. By becoming members, they will be able to develop their physical and mental skills and capacities and to reach their full potential by becoming positive, active citizens.

At our meetings we undertake a wide range of activities and games including building a bridge for our teams to cross safely, launching bottle rockets, preparing and cooking fresh rabbits and playing with radio-controlled cars. We have also tried our hand at building fires and knife and axe handling.

We travel further afield and in the February half term we took a group skiing in Italy and have recently returned from a weekend of canoeing on the river Wye.

In addition to all of this we are a local Duke of Edinburgh’s Award centre which means that our members get the chance to participate in this most prestigious international award. The program runs in conjunction with the usual weekly activities and culminates in a weekend long expedition where participants use the navigational, first aid, risk assessment, route planning and general survival skills they have learned at CAG.

We are happy to talk to you about what you would like to do and how you would like to get involved.
