Partnership Board – 25 September 2012

Potential Follow Up Action/Discussion/Feedback Required:

We need to track the progress of the bid for additional funding for agencies to support information on benefits etc. to ensure that this keeps on the agenda. Please feedback to Janet Down

Key Points of Wider Interest Discussed:

£150,000 was agreed to fund outreach activity to support programmes for tackling youth unemployment until March 2015.   This will link with the work that SUSTAiN are involved in around Talent Match.

An update was given on the Action Against Poverty Progress – once the strategy has been finalised, a bid will be submitted to the partnership to fund additional activity to support people getting the right advice.

An update was given on the progress made, to date, on Involved and Inclusive Communities Priority.  The report focused on a significant amount of activity that had taken place around volunteering, community capacity building, engaged and empowered communities and creating strong and cohesive communities.

An update was provided on the Troubled Families programme and the new Development Manager was introduced (Adrian Bowers) Five families are being worked with at the moment, but this is due to be scaled up to 100.  There has been some slippage on the plan, due to the reluctance of some agencies to second personnel and this will be addressed.

The Domestic Abuse Funding was discussed and it was acknowledged that there would need to be commitment from all agencies to commit to investment for the future.

Date of Next Meeting: 5th November, 2012
