SUSTAiN to offer support to British Legion in Chelmsley Wood for bid to armed forces covenant funding source.

Volunteer partners to save the date for the assembly in May 2013

Key Points of Wider Interest Discussed:

Armed forces Covenant – monies are available – next funding round end of January.

Louise Casey – head of Government Troubled Families Unit – has been secured as the Key Note Speaker at the Partnership Assembly on 1st May, 2013.

Outcome of the review of safeguarding boards – generally positive with some concerns voiced over risks associated with the ‘transitional state’ of some statutory services.

Key Performance Reports shows that there are concerns over an increase in long term unemployment and a widening of the gap in respect of female life expectancy. Reports have been requested on both these subjects

Solihull Employment and Skills Board promoted the ‘StepUp’ programme which links businesses and education.

An agreement was reached to fund 3 FT benefits advisers for one year in DIAL and CASB.

An update was given by the police on ‘after the riots’ as well as a presentation on the success of their recent Twitter campaign.
