Report on Domestic Homicide Review

The meeting spent  an hour discussing the outcome of Solihull’s first domestic homicide review.  None of the discussion can be publicly recorded as the review has not yet been made public.

There were lessons to be learnt for promoting an understanding of domestic violence at a society level and particularly within the business community.

Finance report

There was a long discussion about Safer Solihull’s budget and the pressures upon it.  The Board has been spending reserves to make up for cuts from elsewhere and to maintain services. The activities currently funded are: Partnership analyst, domestic abuse, youth offending, drug & alcohol, neighbourhood activity, LSCB child sexual exploitation project, street lighting.

It was agreed that a subgroup go away and consider the options available to address the pressing budgetary issues.
