REPRESENTATIVE MEETING REPORT

Meeting Name: ICASS Programme Board

Date of Meeting: 28th January 2016

Key Points of Wider Interest Discussed:

There was an update of the Engagement and Communications Strategy.  The Engagement Service User Group was discussed and engagement opportunities with the general public were raised.

Solihull Together for Better Lives has a double page spread in this week’s Solihull Observer regarding the 2016 Awards http://solihulltogether.co.uk/awards-categories

There was a short discussion about which Wellbeing Assessment Tool the Board would choose to recommend for use.  Outcome Star and WEMWBS are the 2 being considered.

There was a discussion around the Urgent & Emergency Care Vanguard and an update on the UEC vanguard value proposition.  

PEI Workstream – It was discussed that AGE UK will begin a pilot for QPOP in late January/early February with other providers following.

There was reference to the item which appeared on the TV programme Inside Out re Gro Organic.

There was mention under several items on the agenda of 7 day working at Solihull hospital by Social Workers.  However it was noted that their effectiveness might not be improved as nursing homes etc will not generally make decisions about admissions at the weekend.

The Co-production and stakeholder panel are looking at ways the ICASS board is engaging with service users and stakeholders. HEFT and BSMHFT have already been approached to ask them to nominate some service users to attend.  The Richmond Group of charities have offered to work with the board re how to engage with the VCS

The Better Care Fund draft guidance is now available for the next financial year.

Potential Follow Up Action/Discussion/Feedback Required:

Solihull Together awards do not appear to have any other means of voting other than online.  The author of this report is awaiting confirmation that votes can be cast in alternative ways.

Ask AGE UK for feedback to the wider VCS  re the Qpop trial, in particular around data sharing protocols

Discuss the impact of 7 day social work teams on the wider voluntary sector

Consider whether it was appropriate for the local VCS to be involved with engagement with ICASS Board
