….. before this year draws to its final curtain, then read the Sustainability and Transformation Plan for Birmingham and Solihull. This joint NHS/Local Authority publication sets the stage for radical change within the provision of services and anyone involved in the voluntary or community sectors should know about it and prepare to engage with this vision.
The programme declares a ‘Triple Aim’ of ‘Better Health’ and ‘Better Care’ at ‘Lower Cost’. It aims to deliver the Triple Aim in a programme which embraces all of Primary Care, Secondary Care, Tertiary Care, Social Care and Care in the Community.
Whether a Voluntary and Community organisation is a commissioned provider of health, care, housing, employment, education, victim or offender services or a provider of activities from lunch clubs and U3As to community choirs and sports clubs, you have an impact on people’s health and support health and social care service users in some way, and thus have an interest in this agenda.
The document is long, detailed and not the easiest to digest, so I should leave it at that and point you in its direction.
