This course offers an introduction to using computers and getting online. You will learn the basics of computer usage and how to use the keyboard and mouse. You will also be introduced to the health and safety issues surrounding the safe working environment, including online security. This course will give you the knowledge and practice to use a computer and be online confidently and independently.
By the end of the course you should be able to:
- Use a mouse and keyboard
- Write and save a document and be able to retrieve it
- Use the internet to search for information
- Use email to send and receive messages
- There will be an opportunity to agree with the Tutor and Group other areas of learning that are of particular interest to you.
Your learning will take place in a small, supportive and encouraging environment; working with the Tutor, volunteer IT Buddies and other students to learn how to use a computer.
The course runs for 10 weeks, 2 hours per week. We offer this course in several locations on different days throughout the school year.
Is there a cost?
This course costs £50.00 payable in advance ,however we may be in a position to offer concessions (free) depending on your circumstances.
When do the classes start?
We have Beginners classes starting in Shirley and Chelmsley Wood throughout 2017.
