Bonds or Bondage?

KnotThis Blog Post is a simple one, which will advocate looking at a post published this week on the Blog run by my colleague at the Birmingham & Solihull Social Economy Consortium, Alun Severn. It is an essential read for those interested in grant funding:

It looks at Social Impact Bonds (SIBs), the relatively new wheeze aimed at better use of funding and improved outcomes for beneficiaries through a sort of payment by results model.

It refers to research into experience with SIBs at Oxford University. The conclusion appears to be – hard work to obtain and deliver against, no evidence of any benefit over traditional grant funding.

Is something that ties you securely up in knots otherwise known as a bond? If so, sounds rather similar!
