‘Community Enterprise for Success’ is a programme of free and flexible business support for new and existing voluntary organisations, charities and social enterprises within Solihull.
The programme is run by Solihull Council, in partnership with the Greater Birmingham and Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership and funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
The package includes personalised plans from a qualified adviser, access to specialist workshops on topics including business growth, governance, finance and marketing and regular networking events for organisations to connect and learn from each other.
The programme supports those with an initial idea for a social enterprise to develop a business plan and start trading, right through to established organisations who are looking to reach the next stage of their growth.
Karen Davenport has been benefiting from marketing advice to boost sales and volunteer numbers at Small Changes charity shop on Lyndon Road, part of Changes UK CIC.
“It’s been incredibly useful to have external input on how we can reach our targets by making more of online and local marketing,” said Karen. “I have an action plan to follow which is easy to understand and already having a positive impact on our figures.”
The next workshop is ‘Start your Social Enterprise’ on 12th September at Solihull Enterprise Centre. Book your place on the EventBrite page.
