Campaign to reduce falls in Solihull

One third of people over the age of 65 and half of those over 85 have a fall every year.  In Solihull this could affect around 15,000 people over 65 including 3,350 over 85.

A month-long campaign is being launched in Solihull on Monday 26th November to help reduce this number and raise awareness of the support available.

Backed by Solihull Together partners, the FreeFromFalls campaign is being promoted to residents and health and care professionals.

The campaign’s key messages are:

  • Falls can cause serious injuries and long term complications. However, a large number of falls are preventable and there are plenty of things people can do to reduce their risk of falling.
  • Visit the Solihull MyLife website to read our top tips and download the falls prevention leaflet  solihull.mylifeportal.co.uk/fallsprevention
