Giving World Online

Giving World Online (GWO) is a scheme set up to help community groups and charities access free surplus goods from businesses and organisations and to help businesses reduce the amount of goods sent to landfill sites. Items include clothing, educational materials, office equipment and toiltetries.

In the next three months GWO will be engaging with businesses in the West Midlands encouraging them to use GWO’s free service to redirect their goods to charities and groups that could make use of them for their beneficiaries.

Groups can register now to familiarise themselves with the website, see how it works and browse the goods currently available. Visit www.givingworldonline.com.

Free Legal Advice

National charity LawWorks can help small charities obtain legal advice. Simply register with them and file your request for legal support, you then get matched to an advisor from a legal firm. You then become a client of that legal firm and receive free legal support. There are some conditions; animal welfare, religious and non-UK focused charities cannot apply for aid. However if you contact them they’ll try direct you somewhere that can.

Need Office Space?

Maggie Leaver at Solihull Carers Centre has recently moved to new offices in Marston Green and has advised us that David Simpson, the proprietor of Touchstone 1 and 2 Pinewood Business Park, has indicated he would be interested in doing favourable deals on office space with other charities.

If you want to find out more, contact David Simpson of Candlelight Property Ltd on DavidSimpson@jetenvironmental.com.
