New Level 3 Safeguarding Courses

Solihull LSCB (Local Safeguarding Children Board) are offering new Level Three courses running between 9th December 2010 and 30th March 2011. Courses available are:

Domestic abuse and children & young people
Forced marriage and ‘honour’ based violence
Training on E-Safety
Recording skills
Sexual exploitation and sexually active young people
Child sexual abuse awareness
Children and young people who display sexually inappropriate behaviour

Safeguarding Adults Theatre Workshop

A Theatre Workshop for Providers/Community Services is to be held on 24th September, 9.30 – 12.30 or 13.30 – 16.30.

By the end of the course participants will have:

Knowledge of definitions and terminology
An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of multi agency partners in safeguarding adults
Identified the factors and risks that may lead to a safeguarding referral
Knowledge of what to do and report safeguarding adult concerns
Considered how their own practice and that of their organisation can be improved to ensure prevention of potential safeguarding adults issues

Effective Voluntary Sector Management Course

NVCO’s Working for a Charity online course in Effective Voluntary Sector Management is commencing in October. The course is accredited by Roehampton University and offers online tutor support and allows you to develop your management skills at a time and location that suits you. Topics covered include financial management, governance and fundraising.
