The Clore Duffield Foundation has announced that its Social Leadership Fellowship Programme offering bursaries of up to £20,000 are available to help train and develop a new generation of leaders for the third sector

The Fellowship can be undertaken intensively over 12 months (the full-time option), or part-time, over a period of up to 24 months.

The deadline for applications is midday on Thursday the 28th May 2012.

10,000 Small Businesses is an innovative fully funded programme designed to unlock the economic and job creation potential of small businesses and social enterprises from across the Midlands (East and West).

The Programme is delivered by Aston Business School in partnership with the Goldman Sachs Foundation and it is targeted at the owners or the most senior decision takers who have clear ambitions to expand their small businesses or social enterprises.

Working with Children & Young People

Midlands Youth on behalf of G:up are holding two free training sessions designed to increase and improve techniques for working with children and young people. These training events are aimed at voluntary and paid youth and children’s workers, and will give practical tips and resources that you can use with your groups to improve children and young people’s participation.

Both events are being held at bayc, 581 Pershore Road, Selly Park, Birmingham, B29 7EL, and will take place from 9.30am-1.00pm. Lunch is not provided, but there will be time to eat together and share ideas, so bring yours with you!

Friday 15^th June 2012 - Creative Ways of Engaging Children and Young People - delivered by Sue Thomas, Common Sense Solutions
A fun and informal training session, with opportunities for people to try out activities, and a space for shared learning on the best methods of working with children and young people.

Signpost Inclusion is a parent led Community Interest Company providing support, training and resources to families and professionals, who have or who work with children and young people who have learning difficulties and additional needs.

They offer a resource base with books and sensory products, parent to parent support in the form of groups and drop in sessions, Early Support training, training and information on autism with a specialist section in our resource base and signposting to relevant services.

Apprenticeships for the VCS
