Chelmsley Wood Partnership Plus
The Chelmsley Wood Partnership Plus Area is a focus for intensive partnership working by the Solihull Partnership, hence the title of partnership plus area, and is part of the North Solihull regeneration area. It comprises Chelmsley Wood Town Centre and surrounding residential neighbourhoods.
The socio-economic indicators for this Area reflect this status with all measures less favourable than the Solihull average. The area lies mainly in the Chelmsley Wood and Fordbridge electoral wards. The majority of the Lower Super Output areas within the area are in the 10% most deprived of neighbourhoods in the country and the remainder are in the 20% most deprived nationally. The Ward Profiles for the wider electoral wards can be found here and here.
The area has a number of natural assets including the Cole River valley and is also within two miles of the major employment assets of Birmingham International Airport and the National Exhibition Centre. Its also has several community assets, with capacity for more extensive use. That the range and take up of community services could be developed is a focus of current partnership action.
